THE VIRGINIA BOARD OF MEDICINE REQUIRES THAT WE INFORM YOU ACCORDING TO 18VAC85-20-26 REGARDING THE TIME FRAME FOR MEDICAL RECORD RETENTION IN THIS FACILITY. 

It is the ploicy of this office that we shall maintain your medical record for six years following the last patient encounter with the allowed legal exceptions in this regulation.

Records can only be destroyed in a manner that protects patient confidentiality. We will destroy all medical records after six years following the last patient encounter by shredding the record.

If you want your medical records, please make your written request within the time frames mentioned in the above board regulation.
